CAPERS® HISTORY

Company Founder Richard’s father, Lee, was a Police Officer with the city of Countryside from 1977 to his retirement in 1999 (22 years). During his tenure at the department, Lee used a DOS based software program called CAPERS. Lee kept requesting reports to be written which would make his job as a lieutenant much easier. However his requests went unanswered.

When one of the employees for the DOS version of CAPERS came to work for ISI, the parent company of CAPERS in 1999, Richard decided ISI should embark on the journey of writing a Windows based version of the CAPERS software. Soon after this decision was made ISI acquired the CAPERS signature name from the DOS based company.

With the concentrated talent and diligence of our programmers and experienced technology staff ISI was able to pitch this competitive and head-turning software to a select number of test groups. On April 1st, 2004 CAPERS Records Management System (RMS) went live at the Palos Park Police Department. Soon after, through rigorous research and development, CAPERS branched out to three main products including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), RMS, and Mobile In-Car CAD/RMS.

price. With strong roots and satisfied customers CAPERS has developed into an ever-growing presence and continues to earn a brand of our product as a better alternative to pricy competitors.
